Solo exhibition ‘Harmony of Love’ opens at Gallery FourLife in Colombo 5

On July 8, painter S.H. Sarath’s solo exhibition “Harmony of Love” opened at Gallery FourLife (26 Boteju Road, Colombo 5) in Colombo 5.

The theme of the exhibition is “Harmony of Love, Relationships, and Peace.” The gallery organized the exhibition to encourage Sri Lankan artists and pay tribute to senior artists during these difficult times. It features 35 works, primarily oil on canvas, by Sarath. His works are recognized for their focus on social consciousness, satire, and multi-religious philosophy.

Sarath was born in 1947 in Weligama, Sri Lanka. He studied fine arts at then Government College of Fine Arts in Sri Lanka, Silpakorn Fine Arts University in Bangkok, and the University of South Australia in Adelaide, and has participated in exhibitions in Sri Lanka and around the world, including Canada, Switzerland, France, and Japan. His works are on permanent display at the National Art Gallery Colombo, UNICEF Sri Lanka, Ecka Art Gallery Yugoslavia, UN Geneva, and the University of Victoria, among others.

A veteran artist, Sarath’s sphere of activity ranges from film art director, visiting university lecturer, and stage decoration artist. In 2017, he received Sri Lanka’s Kala Soori National Honors for Arts.
