Mr. Kottu Grand opens its sixth outlet in Colombo suburb Maharagama

On July 1, the sixth outlet of Mr. Kottu Grand (143 High Level Road, Maharagama 10280), a chain specializing in the traditional Sri Lankan dish “kottu,” opened in Maharagama, a suburb of Colombo.

The chain features kottu, consisting of diced roti stir-fried with scrambled egg, onions, chilies, spices, and optional vegetables or meat. It opened its first store in the Sri Lankan capital Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte in 2019 and currently has outlets in Rajagiriya, Wellawatte, Pannipitiya, and Battaramulla. The Maharagama branch boasts the largest dining area in the chain, with indoor dining, outdoor dining, and a party room.

The standard kottu lineup has 12 varieties, including seafood, roast chicken, lamb, prawn, and spicy Sinhala Ariya, to name a few. It also offers a variety of kottu made with rice, noodles, pasta, cheese, and masala, priced from 600 rupees to 1,700 rupees.

In addition to kottu, the restaurant has a rice menu that includes fish rice (from Rs.700), seafood and chicken rice (from Rs.1,400), nasi chicken (from Rs.800), and biryani (from Rs.800).

Besides dine-in and takeout options, it also offers delivery, which can be ordered through Uber Eats and Pickme Foods.
