Three months have passed since Spa Ceylon, a Colombo-based spa chain and skincare brand, opened a new store (221 Negombo Road, Wattala 11300) in Wattala, a suburb of Colombo.

The chain provides spa treatments based on Ayurveda, the long-established medicine of the East, and skincare products based on “the traditional herbal wellness prescriptives with modern dermatological science.” Since its establishment in 2009, the chain has opened 16 spas and about 30 retail stores in Sri Lanka. In 2016, the company opened its Japanese flagship store in Ginza, Tokyo, and now has 13 stores and distributors throughout Japan.

The store’s sales area, featuring vivid colors such as red and green, offers skincare products such as massage and bath oils, exfoliating bars, body packs, body lotions, moisturizing balms, and foot care products. All products are alcohol- and paraben-free. The company promotes sustainable products that are friendly to the environment and society, and its products are never tested on animals and do not use animal-derived ingredients.

In July, a new spa salon opened in the Wattala branch, offering more than 25 different treatments. Inspired by “centuries-old Ceylonese Royal health and wellbeing rituals practiced in the grand palaces of ancient Ceylon,” the spa provides treatments by category, including body, head, hand, and foot, using a wide variety of herbs, essential oils, and treatment oils to “soothe the body, mind, and soul.”

Opening hours: 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
