One month has passed since the opening of Fishmart (671 Subuthi Mawatha, Battaramulla 10120, Sri Lanka), an online store offering fresh seafood based in the Colombo suburb of Battaramulla. Island Seafood Market manages the business.

The store conceptualizes “Fresh seafood from the ocean to your table” and promotes delivery within 24 hours. Its products are freshly caught seafood from the waters around Sri Lanka, and the company ensures that it offers only sustainably sourced seafood. The fish is cut into easy-to-use sizes for cooking, such as curry-cut, steak-cut, and fillets, and is sold in vacuum-packed packages.

The fresh fish selection includes sardines, yellowfin tuna, sailfish, red snapper, barramundi, and seer fish, with prices starting at 585 rupees per 250 grams. It also carries tiger prawns, flower prawns, and cuttlefish, and customers can choose whether they want their prawns with or without tails.

Delivery service is currently available only in Colombo City and surrounding areas. Orders can be placed through the store’s website, by phone, and via WhatsApp.

Opening hours: 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (until 1:30 p.m. on Saturdays). Closed on Sundays.
