Colombo’s Monkeybean Café moves to Marine Drive, serving coffee made with locally grown beans
Inside Monkeybean Café
Three months have passed since Monkeybean Café (No. 16, Sellamuththu Avenue, Colombo 03) relocated to Kollupitiya in Colombo 03.
The café was previously located on the shores of Lake Beira in Colombo 02. In June this year, it moved to a new location along Marine Drive, where customers can enjoy a view of the ocean from the windows. Its coffee is made with beans locally grown in Sri Lanka.
Coffee is available hot or iced, including espresso, americano, mocha, cappuccino, café latte, bulletproof coffee, and lattes flavored with hazelnut or vanilla. Its own Monkeybean House Blend is available in a glass bottle.
In addition to coffee, chai, iced tea, lemonade, and chocolate drinks are offered, priced from 550 to 1,390 rupees. Vegan customers can order drinks with coconut milk instead of regular milk.
The food menu includes Sri Lankan Omelet; Colombonara, carbonara with a twist; Mrs. Chicken Burger; Mr. Monkey’s Beef Burger; and Panini with fillings such as ham and meatballs. For dessert, the café offers a lineup of homemade treats, including chocolate biscuit pudding, carrot cake with walnuts, and chocolate cake, to name a few.
Opening hours: 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. In addition to dining in and takeout, Monkeybean Café accepts deliveries via Uber Eats and PickMe Food.
