Second AQUA Pizza opens in Colombo suburb, serving authentic Neapolitan pizza

AQUA Pizza (67C Wickramasinghe Mawatha, Battaramulla, Sri Jayawardenepura), a Neapolitan pizza specialty restaurant, opened in Battaramulla, a suburb of Colombo, on November 3.
The restaurant is the second outlet of AQUA Pizza, which has its main branch in the port city of Galle in Sri Lanka’s Southern Province. They serve pizza prepared with homemade dough and baked in a traditional Neapolitan wood-fired oven. The head chef of the main restaurant is a native of Naples, Italy, and has spent many years perfecting the art of preparing authentic Neapolitan pizza.
The restaurant’s eye-catching green walls are accented with natural stone, brick, and the abundant use of wood. It has indoor and outdoor seating, and a private room is available on the second floor. From the terrace seats, where bougainvillea covers one side, diners can see the pizza oven in the kitchen.
The regular pizza menu features 15 types, including the tomato-based Margherita (Rs. 1,900) topped with mozzarella and basil, the Diavola (Rs. 3,200) with pork or beef spicy salami, and the Tartufata (Rs. 4,400) with mushrooms and truffle oil. Four types of Gourmet Pizza, topped with such as caviar or lobster, are available at prices ranging from 5,100 to 12,900 rupees. It also offers 14 extra toppings that can be added according to taste, including Gorgonzola, olives, chicken, Parma ham, and caviar.
The dessert menu includes tiramisu, panna cotta, and gelato, to name a few, while the drink menu offers prosecco and a wide selection of Italian wines.
Opening hours: Monday through Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and Friday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. (until 10:30 p.m. on Sundays).
