The contemporary art gallery Barefoot Gallery (Galle Road, Colombo 04), located in Bambalapitiya, Colombo, is currently holding a solo exhibition by artist Druvinka Puri entitled “Infinite Visionary Time.”

Druvinka Puri, who spends her days as a yogi in the Himalayan mountains of India, gained prominence after a solo exhibition in Colombo in 1990. She has since exhibited her works in Sri Lanka, India, Malaysia, and London.

Druvinka is known for her work in the Visionary Art field, depicting visions and inner worlds experienced through meditation. She describes the creation of her artwork, “It’s like a spirit comes into me, and it happens.” As a yogi, the process of creating her artwork is her yogic practice, and she explores the themes of nature, the cosmos, and the cycle of birth, life, and death, known as “samsara.”

For the past 30 years, she has exhibited her works at the gallery every year, and in August this year, she held a solo exhibition with the same title. In the current show, themed on the essence of human existence, the balance between dark and light, and the eternal truth, she showcases a selection of her representative works.

Opening hours: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Closed Sundays.
