Best Food (161 Galle Road, Colombo 04), a Sri Lankan restaurant in Bambalapitiya, Colombo, celebrated its relaunch on February 1.

The restaurant retained its trademark yellow and black interior but added traditional Sri Lankan paintings to the walls and updated the design with a glass partition between the seating area and the kitchen. It also introduced a “buffeteria” style, where customers select dishes from a counter and pay for them before seating at a table.

The second and third floors feature dining areas with tables with bench seating, and the third floor also has outdoor seating to accommodate office and private parties. The third-floor space has been used since last November as “Tharappuwa by Best Food,” regularly hosting live performances by artists.

With the relaunch, the restaurant has expanded its Sri Lankan menu. The menu includes rice and curry (from 350 rupees) with a choice of chicken, beef, fish, sausage, and other ingredients; Sri Lankan fried rice (from 450 rupees); chop suey and rice (from 600 rupees); and eight types of kottu (from 350 rupees), which can be ordered in a full or half portion. It also offers Lotus Leaf Rice which comes with five different side dishes.
