Vietnamese coffee ‘The Coffee Craft’ opens in Colombo 03, also serving food

The Coffee Craft (55 St Anthony’s Mawatha, Colombo 03), a café serving Vietnamese coffee, opened in early March in Colombo 03.
It is a sister store to Nail Craft, a Vietnamese-style beauty and nail salon in Colombo 04. The interior is decorated in mint green and yellow tones with soft lighting. In addition to rattan seats with bright Vietnamese fabric cushions, table seats, and counter seats, it has terrace seats with ornamental plants.
The main Vietnamese coffee is made from Vietnamese Robusta beans and brewed with a special metal coffee filter called “phin.” The lineup includes Black Coffee (Rs. 600), Condensed Milk Coffee (Rs. 760), Hot Egg Coffee (Rs. 890) with egg yolk, sugar, and condensed milk, and Iced Coconut Coffee (Rs. 890).
Espresso-style coffees are made with Ceylon Arabica beans, including Espresso, Americano, Cappuccino, and Caramel Macchiato, and are priced at around 700 rupees. The other drink menu includes a blue latte made with butterfly pea flowers, matcha latte, juice, smoothies, and lemonade, to name a few.
Vietnamese dishes are also available, including Vermicelli Noodle Salad (Rs. 2,490); Pho, a noodle dish in a light soup (Rs. 1,490); Banh Mi, a Vietnamese sandwich (Rs. 1,290-1,490); Yellow Sticky Rice with Chicken (Rs. 1,590); Fried Chicken Spring Rolls (Rs. 800 rupees for two); and Prawn Spring Rolls (Rs. 800 for two). For dessert, caramel pudding, coconut jelly, coffee jelly, avocado ice cream, coconut ice cream, and brownies are available.
