It has been a month since the Sri Lankan restaurant Ceylon Virundhu (8/10, Mill Street, Colombo 12) opened in Colombo 12.
On May 19, the restaurant opened in Colombo’s culinary destination, Aluthkade, where street food stalls are lined up. It now offers Sri Lankan cuisine in addition to soups.
The dining area, unified in red and white, is divided into two spaces. The privacy-focused space has two booth seats, while the open design space features two tables and folding counters. The restaurant has also set up 4-5 tables on the street, allowing customers to enjoy the illuminated night view of Lotus Tower.
The food menu includes BBQ chicken, shawarma with a choice of meat or with/without cheese, beef and chicken kottu, beef rib soup, fried beef with onion sambol, fried chicken, dum biryani, fried rice, and more, with prices ranging from 400 to 1,450 rupees. Customers can also add grilled chicken or roti as additional options. For drinks, it offers masala tea, lemon mint, lime tea, and others.
