Falooda Frappé

Carnival Ice Cream, an ice ream shop in Colombo’s Kollupitiya district, started offering a new product, Falooda Frappé, in May.

Afshaan, the head of operation, said, “Falooda is a traditional Indian drink made with rose syrup, vermicelli, psyllium or basil seeds, tapioca pearls, and gelatin mixed with milk or water.” Carnival’s falooda is made with rose syrup, layers of jelly and vanilla ice cream, and topped with basil seeds and crushed jello. Prices start from 500 rupees.

The shop’s main products are a dozen types of original ice cream, including chocolate, strawberry, chocolate and nuts, mango, passion fruit, and New York cheesecake. Ice cream prices range from 650 rupees to 1,000 rupees. In addition to ice cream, it also offers milk shakes and sundaes, and the banana boat, which is a banana topped with three kinds of ice cream, is one of the most popular items. Frappés and ice cream in cups are available for delivery.
