Additive-free cream cheese store Kremeux in suburb of Colombo offering unique flavors

One year has passed since the opening of Kremeux, a store that offers cream cheese for delivery or pickup in Wellawate, a suburb of Colombo.
Kremeux opened in July last year. “During the lockdown, it was difficult to find good-quality cream cheese at a reasonable price. Even if you require a small amount, you had to buy a large amount. I tried preparing it at home and found it a fun thing to do, so I decided to start it as a business,” said Sivahaamy Vithyatharan, the owner. The store currently delivers to locations within Colombo 1-15 and its immediate suburbs. “Once we find the solution for refrigerated transport, we would like to expand our business island-wide,” she said.
In July this year, Sivahaamy changed the brand logo and labels to commemorate the first anniversary. It currently offers four flavors: Original, Garlic & Herb, KaaraMiris with chili peppers, and Krusty Krab with crab. There are also limited-edition flavors, such as Chocolate and Merry Berry with cape gooseberry. All types of cream cheese are available in three sizes — 125 grams, 200 grams, and 500 grams — and priced from 500 rupees.
Shivahaamy added: “The shelf life of our cream cheese is one month as it does not contain preservatives or harmful additives. We are offering our products on a preorder basis since they are made fresh on the delivery day. The next plan is to launch new few flavors.”
Delivery orders are accepted from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (in-person pickup is available on request). Orders can be placed via Instagram (@kremeux_lk).
