Two months have passed since Poké 65, a cloud kitchen offering creative homemade bowls, opened in Wellawatte, a suburb of Colombo.
The opening was on July 21. A team of staff at Mai Globe Travels operates the kitchen. Catherine Lebouille, managing director of Mai Globe Travels, said: “Inspired by our time traveling the world and a common passion for good, healthy food, we created this unique concept to share our favorite flavors with people. We also wanted to offer our customers the option of having bowls in the comfort of their home.”
She added that their main chef is of Japanese descent and has worked at a Japanese restaurant in the United States. Poké 65 offers a variety of fusion dishes — influenced by various cuisines from Vietnam, Japan, Thailand, and so on — in the style of Poké Bowls. The menu includes Saigon Bowl (Rs.1,250) with Vietnamese marinated chicken and spring rolls; Poké Maguro Bowl (Rs.1,450), a Japanese-style bowl of tuna seasoned with spicy mayonnaise; and Tofu Teri Bowl (Rs.1,100) for vegetarians. Side dishes such as Falafel (Rs.450 for six pieces) and Japanese-style potato salad Pokéto Salad (Rs.650) are also available.
“Our bowls are unique and flavorful as we use our own secret sauce recipes, ” said Lebouille. “We are planning to develop our recipes further to offer more delicious Poké bowls. In the near future, we’d like to expand our opening hours, including dinner time and dining in.”
Opening hours: Monday to Thursday 10.30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. / Friday and Saturday 10:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. Closed on Sundays.
Poké 65 accepts orders via WhatsApp and Uber Eats.
