90’s Truck, an eatery offering Sri Lankan food and hamburgers in Wellawatte, a suburb of Colombo, will celebrate its first anniversary on November 10.
A group of friends established the business on the same day last year. Besides Sri Lankan food, they decided to offer hamburgers and sandwiches, noting the high demand. The name “90’s Truck” comes from the fact that the entrepreneurial friends were all born in the 1990s, and they operate the eatery from a food truck, which seats eight people.
The burger menu includes Crispy Chicken Burger (Rs.620), Regular Chicken Burger (Rs.595), Cheesy Chicken Burger (Rs.480), Pepper Chicken Burger (Rs.440), and so on. The mayonnaise on the burgers is original. Sandwiches and shawarma are also available, including Masala Chicken Club Sandwich, Masala Paneer Club Sandwich (Rs.540), Mini Cheese Chicken Sub (7 inches = Rs.580), Vegetable Shawarma (Rs.450), and Chicken Shawarma (Rs.580).
On social networking sites, 90’s Truck periodically runs campaigns such as “Buy one, get one free” and “Buy a burger, get a toy.” Customers can also ask for delivery, and orders can be placed via WhatsApp, EatMe, and Trickle, as well as its website. The eatery plans to expand its business and open new branches around Colombo in the near future.
Opening hours: 8:00 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.
