‘One Island, A Thousand Treasures’ launched to promote undiscovered Sri Lanka

Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, a resort hotel chain in Sri Lanka, launched “One Island, A Thousand Treasures,” a tourism information website that allows users to submit their stories, on February 22.
The site was launched to go beyond the usual tourist spots and discover and introduce locations and experiences that have not been widely known in Sri Lanka, an island nation full of culture, history, spirituality, and nature. The project is intended to raise awareness of the country’s hidden treasures and promote Sri Lankan tourism, placing high hopes on the power of discovery and story-telling of digital content creators and influencers who disseminate information online. It also aims to create new business opportunities for local communities, including the revival of local arts and crafts.
After registering, creators can submit their stories on the site. They can also share them through Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube using the tags @CinnamonHotels and #OneIslandThousandTreasures.
The stories will be reviewed by an independent panel of content experts, and the selected contributors will receive gift certificates, meal coupons, and discount coupons from the hotel chain and its partner brands. Submissions are accepted until August 31.
