KAMUKO (215/1, Thalawathugoda road, Pitakotte, Colombo), a hamburger restaurant in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, the capital of Sri Lanka, relaunched as KAMUKO Restaurant on February 11.

The restaurant, originally established as a burger restaurant, opened on February 25, 2010. The interior and exterior remain the same, but three new staff members, headed by Akesh, are now in charge of the restaurant. A new catering service has also been launched to accommodate special parties and office parties.

With the relaunch, the menu has also been updated, with a stronger emphasis on rice-based dishes. The rice menu, which offers a choice of chicken, seafood, specials, and other ingredients, includes Indonesian-style Nasi Goreng (from Rs.790), spicy Daiyya Rice (from Rs.690), and the traditional Sri Lankan dish Kottu (from Rs.350). Fried rice is available in two rice varieties: Sri Lankan Samba Rice (from Rs.290) or long grain Basmati Rice (from Rs.390).

In addition to rice, the restaurant offers a variety of burgers and sandwiches, including the Crispy Chicken Burger (Rs.590), Big Tower Burger (Rs.750), Bulldozer Burger (Rs.890), Spicy Chicken Submarine (Rs.650), and Beef Submarine (Rs.690), to name a few.

Akesh says, “We plan to open a garden area in the near future. We also hope to expand so that families can enjoy dining together.”
