The Japanese-affiliated hotel Granbell Hotel Colombo (282/5, Kollupitiya Road, Marine Drive, Colombo 3, Phone: +94112 397 397) opened in the Colombo 3 on April 27.

The facility is a sister hotel to Le Grand Galle, which opened in 2018 in the World Heritage City of Galle in southwestern Sri Lanka. It is managed by Belluna (Ageo City, Saitama Prefecture, Japan), which operates real estate development projects in the Maldives and Sri Lanka. Ando Hazama constructed the hotel. It is the first hotel in Colombo to combine Sri Lankan-inspired craftsmanship with Japanese architecture.

The hotel has 292 guest rooms with sea and city views. Three types of rooms are available: Standard, Superior, and Deluxe, some with balconies and some with bathtubs overlooking the sea. The facilities include a rooftop infinity pool, gym, dance studio, and spa, to name a few. The banquet hall, 130 square meters indoors and 100 square meters on the terrace, can accommodate a variety of events, including weddings, conferences, and corporate events.

The hotel also features a rooftop bar overlooking Colombo city, all-day dining, and a Japanese restaurant where guests can enjoy teppanyaki and tempura dishes prepared by a Japanese chef.
