Café The Busy Bean opens at Colombo Racecourse, overlooking grounds
Inside The Busy Bean
It has been three months since the café The Busy Bean (Racecourse Promenade, Philip Gunewardena Mawatha, Colombo 00700) opened at the Colombo Racecourse, a sports-commercial complex that used to be a horse racing track in Cinnamon Gardens.
The café situates in the Promenade commercial facility, and it is a part of the LSR Group. The interior of the two-story café, featuring green and earth colors, is warm and inviting with wood paneling and decorative plants. The dining area overlooks the grounds, now used for rugby matches. The second floor has a meeting room that can accommodate 8 to 10 people.
The snack menu includes sandwiches, crepes, wraps, and burgers. Flavored teas, juices, smoothies, mocktails, and other beverages are also available. A wide selection of coffee, such as cappuccinos, lattes, and brewed coffee, is offered, and it uses Ceylon coffee beans from Aga Coffee, which are grown, brewed, and roasted locally.
The café also sells sweets and baked goods made by small-scale home bakers. Currently it carries products from Dessert Bistro, Ashi’s Crafty Cookies, Deiv’s Cake Factory, and Sara’s Granola.
Opening hours: 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
